NEW: please refer to: Step-by-step guide for Setting Up EzRemote (HTML  PDF)

1.       Create an account in www.no-ip.com for free, which will give you a unique name for your home network (i.e., yourname.no-ip.org), and you do not need to worry about your IP address no more.

2.       Download no-ip’s dynamic update client (DUC) following the instruction in the email sent to you after registration. This app will get your IP address and report it to the no-ip servers every 5 minutes.

3.       For RDP connection you need make sure that your computer is accessible from the Internet and TCP port 3389 (default Windows RDP port) is opened on firewall or router. If you use ADSL or any other routers, make sure that it is enabling access to your computer from Internet through TCP port 3389 (probably you need to configure port forwarding from external IP address of router to internal IP address of computer). If on your computer installed Windows XP with enabled built-in firewall, or any other firewall software, you should open TCP port 3389 for incoming connections. Please refer to the following URL for more detailed instruction:

4.       Now, you can simply use the URL you created at No-IP to connect to your sever
